The Berskhire pig is one of the 10 native breeds managed by the British Pig Association
The Brtiish Pig Association manages conservation breeding plans for 10 native pig breeds. Each year all breeders are surveyed to record an accruate pictuer of the live population. In situ and ex-situ conservation plans are then updated and priorities set for each breed for the year.
