The European Forest Institute is an international organisation, conducting research and providing policy support on issues related to forests.

 

It comprises approximately 130 Associate and Affiliate Member organisations in 40 countries. The Headquarters is in Joensuu, Finland, and other offices in Barcelona, Bonn and Brussels as well as project offices in Malaysia and China.

 

Its 'Genetic Resources Facility' based in Barcelona handles EUFORGEN Programme and other projects on forest genetic resources.
